11. Turnkey brand or independent studio?
Most Gurgaon homeowners end up choosing between two routes. Turnkey brands — the experience-centre firms such as Livspace or HomeLane Gurugram — offer standardised modules, fixed packages and a single point of contact, which suits a new flat that needs kitchen, wardrobes and basics done together. Independent studios — the neighbourhood designers listed above — are usually more flexible on custom joinery, materials and one-off pieces, and are often a better fit for builder floors, partial renovations or a distinctive look.
Whichever you choose, compare at least two proposals on the same brief: the same rooms, the same carcass material (plywood grade or board type), the same hardware brand and the same finish. 12. Before you sign: a practical checklist
- Visit at least one completed site or experience centre, and ask to see materials in person.
- Get the quote itemised — carcass material, hardware brand, laminate/finish and warranty for each.
- Agree the payment schedule against milestones, not dates.
- Check your society's rules on work timings and debris disposal before work starts.
- Keep the design drawings and final bill of materials; they help with any warranty claim later.
